Staff Development

Stage 3: Implement

School representatives implement their "action plans" based on their LoTi Action Plan goals and objectives. Sample implementation strategies include mentoring opportunities, peer coaching, and customized, technology-supported professional development sessions involving differentiated instruction, higher order thinking skills, and student-centered classrooms. Great Expectations with LoTi™ offers two on-site professional development sessions that focus on moving teachers to the "Target Technology" Level:

LoTi Professional Teacher Institute
In this institute, participants model learning activities that enable the learner to (1) focus on current issues or topics, (2) investigate the magnitude of real problems using case studies, surveys, experiments, and related classroom investigations, (3) explore potential solutions to a given problem, and (4) generate and implement action plans to solve authentic problems. This latter step is used as components of the Experiential-based Action Model (EBAM) assessment scheme.

LoTi Professional Administrator Institute
During this institute, participants will (1) conduct clinical observations of classroom practices based on the Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi) Framework, (2) diagnose a school system's "technology" profile and prescribe appropriate professional development interventions, and (3) develop a system-wide action plan framework for moving staff members to the "Target Technology" level.
